GDA DanRe Signs Strategic Memorandum Securing Technical Framework for Planned 80 MW Wind Project in Georgia

Tbilisi, Georgia, 12th of May, 2026 — GDA DanRe has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with JSC Georgian State Electrosystem (GSE) and a group of renewable energy developers in Georgia regarding the joint development of the strategic “Urbnisi 220/110/35” project substation and related transmission infrastructure in Georgia.

The memorandum represents an important milestone for the integration of new renewable energy capacity into Georgia’s transmission network and establishes the technical framework and future grid connection rights required for the GDA Danre’s Gori South Mountain Wind Power Plant.

With regard to the project itself, wind measurement activities remain ongoing, while a number of technical, environmental and development studies have already been completed on time or ahead of schedule in accordance with international best practices and standards.

GDA DanRe would also like to thank Georgian State Electrosystem for its initiative, coordination efforts, and constructive cooperation between all participating parties involved in the Urbnisi infrastructure project.

Commenting on the signing, Esben Christensen, CEO of Danish Renewables, said:

“This memorandum marks another important step in advancing the Gori South Mountain project into a large-scale renewable energy asset for Georgia. We strongly believe in the country’s renewable energy potential and are pleased to continue working closely with Georgian institutions and partners.”

Jeanette Hansen, Project Manager at GDA DanRe, added:
